CURRENT REFLECTIONS ON THE NATURAL & MANMADE
Landmarks Arts Gallery
Texas Tech University
School of Art
An exhibition of unique, tactile objects of observation and concern about the natural environment and about contemporary society, on the fragility of matters of both nature and nurture, a ‘visual’ conversation which juxtaposes powerfully. The works take memorable forms in clay, fibers, glass, jewelry, metals, mixed media, repurposed media and wood by exceptional artists who have long chosen craft media, exploring tactile forms and processes to articulate their commitment to ideas- ecological, social and political-in their own recognizable vocabularies and meaningful, heartfelt narratives.
